Christopher Columbus


Christopher columbus was an Italian explorer.
He was born between August 25 and October 31 1451 in Genoa,italy.
He died May 20 1506, outside Valladolid Span.
He died at the age of 55.

Early life:
Christopher Columbus was the eldest from five children. His father was a wool weaver,
and Christopher Columbus and his brother used to help him but he always wanted to sail
across seas.

First voyage:
On his first voyage he went to North America. He took three ships that were called the
“Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria, there were about 90 crew members from all three ships.
Christopher Columbus captained Santa Maria; his ships were 15 to 36 meters long.

Second voyage:

On his second Dominican republic (September 25, 1493- June 11, 1496) Columbus
sailed with 17 shipsAnd 1,200-1,500 men to find gold and capture Indians as slaves
the Indian. He spotted the island and named that island Dominican republic on
November 3, 1493.

Third voyage:


On his third voyage he sailed with 6 ships to the New World. Columbus sailed at first to
the
Portuguese Island of Porto Santo then he goes some on Madeira. After that he went to
the Canary Islands. From there the ships are in two teams: three ships are went directly
to Hispaniola and the other three ships, captained by Columbus, were on a mission of
exploration to find any more land.
